Progress

Progress on the "Project Linus" blanket ...

... only 2 or 3 more "sections" to go.

And ... approaching the toe of the sock. Exciting!

Shared Yarn

A friend's mother passed away, and they've been going through her things. He brought me a big box and a big bag of yarn, knowing I like to knit and stuff. I in turn sorted through, and took most to the thrift store, keeping what I could use. I've been finding skeins of wool yarn here and there at the thrift store lately. Well, in this bunch he brought to me, there was this:

I like seeing vintage labels and things. And 100 per cent wool yarn. This is "A Golden T Product," "snarlproof," 100 per cent virgin wool. The price on the label says $1.29, a red TG&Y sticker has $1.17. I just find all this very interesting. :)

Sock ... Seeing the Light at the End of the Tunnel

At knitting group yesterday, my teacher led me through picking up the second side of stitches for the gusset, and got me started on knitting that challenging-looking triangle shape. (Actually two, one on each side.) Then when I got home, I worked on it more and finished the gusset. Now to just KNIT on the foot portion to a certain point. Exciting!

Restart

In the previous post, I was starting a blanket for "Project Linus." Well, I hit a snag, messed up stitches, made it worse, couldn't fix it, so .... "riiiiiiip." But I like the pattern, so may tackle it again another time, and just work on it when I'm NOT DISTRACTED.

So, I saw another blanket pattern on "Pinterest" for a simple knitted blanket. This shows the beginning of it. I'll still use leftover yarn in a similar way, but this will be wider "chunks" of stripes. (The original pattern has narrower stripes.) The two rows between the colored sections are the "seed stitch," so that gives an interesting pattern there.

Here's a link to the pattern on "Ravelry:"
