Looks Like ...

The first three sections of this current Abstract Cats afghan I'm working on (three colors of the six I'll use) makes me think of ...

... Neapolitan ice cream ...

... or maybe that striped, flat taffy. I can't see this taffy that I don't think of the town swimming pool in the summer when I was a kid.

Surrounded

I think I'm surrounded with enough yarn, as I sit here in my big chair by the window. Brown granny square "throw" around my shoulders, it's a cold, blustery day, and sitting by this window is chilly. Same for the big blue-and-white granny square throw on my lap, just helping me stay warm. The bright fuschia with the purple-blue variegated is the start of an "abstract cats" afghan, getting the pattern back in my fingers in preparation for another one I'll start this week for a requested project. Had been awhile, so thought I'd better get in practice with the crochet hook again. This one in the picture will just end up as a personal afghan, using scraps. By my feet is the "groovy-ghan," will probably add a few rows to it while I'm at it.

Back At It With the Groovy-ghan

The "groovy-ghan" has been sitting in its satchel for quite awhile. Probably months. Got it out yesterday and started in on it again while Hubby had an appointment. Continuing along, looking good, still has a ways to go to be long enough.

Teal

Finished the teal scarf for our neighbor lady who shared a pie with us. Used a quick-to-work shell design.

Also made a small "infinity" scarf for myself from the leftover yarn.

A Quick Gift

Girl gets skein of yarn at employee Christmas party. Neighbor lady brings over delicious cherry pie for family. Girl decides to use yarn to make nice neighbor lady a pretty scarf to go back with the clean pie plate. This is a quick-to-work-up pattern. Using Caron yarn in "Pagoda." (Yarn is more of a dark teal color - this photo looks more blue.)

Drop Stitch Runner

A week ago, I made a table runner/scarf using a drop-stitch pattern. The color combination was a happy accident, and I really like it. Mom had a big one like this with multiple colors, that she had on top of a cedar chest. I wish I'd kept it, I think I didn't for some reason. :( So now I'm making stuff with this pattern to make up for that. Call me sentimental, if nothing else.
