Recently, I received in the mail the current issues of "Knit 1-2-3" and "Crochet 1-2-3." I highly recomment BOTH of these magazines - they're relatively inexpensive, and chock-full of projects. These issues, each one featured an article on "Project Linus," an organization that provides blankets and quilts for needy children and babies. Each magazine also featured a project that a person can make and donate. I decided to start the knit one. It features two main colors, but I decided to do one main color, and then vary each "knitted" section with a different color.

Stringy
After starting on it a couple of years ago, then putting it away for a long time, I finally finished a spring-colored shell throw the other day. BUT, I have all these ends to weave in! I've done a few ... but a ton to go.

In the Works
A few projects in the works:
A while back, I finished the back for the second "Mitered Pillow," in "Mauna Loa" color.
A week and a half ago, we had an ice storm. Our power went out from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., plus a phase problem that finally got fixed around 6 p.m. So, one thing I did that day was sit by the window and work on the "cushy" baby blanket.
Sock updates -
On the green (secret) sock, I had to undo and start over.
But about a week and a half ago, I got the heel flap done on the brown sock ....
.... then at this week's knitting group (this last Tue.), my excellent teacher walked me through "turning the heel" and starting to pick up the side stitches for the gusset. Wow! It's starting to look like a sock!

Socks ... Still Going ...
After three starts in the last several weeks, the brown sock is finally coming along! My teacher at knitting group has been anxious for me to get to the heel flap, and I'm glad to say that this next time, we'll be at that point.
Brown sock with two inches of ribbed cuff, and four inches of stockinette stitch, now ready to start the heel flap.

And, the "surprise" green sock (that my teacher doesn't know about ... yet ...) is coming along, and has the two inches of ribbed cuff done, now ready to start the stockinette stitch.
